Stuffed Pretzel Bites

What's your favorite game day snack? With the Big Game coming this weekend, people across the country will be pulling out their favorite smoked, fried, grilled, and stuffed snacks, all in anticipation for a game watching, snack munching time!

For me, nothing goes better with a game day celebration than homemade pretzels. That buttery, salty taste is the perfect snack for 4th down conversions, touchdown celebrations, and half time performances. Now, stuff that pretzel with the most unique and delicious flavors you can find, and you've got a snack worthy of any gridiron gang! Using some of our favorite Honeyville ingredients, we've created 3 delicious stuffed pretzel recipes your whole team will love this weekend. Best of all, they're super easy to make! It's time to try our Jalapeno & Cheese, Pizza, and Peanut Butter filled pretzel bites!

Ingredients (Pretzel Dough):
4 cups  Alta Artisa Bread Flour
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 1/2 cups Warm Water
2 1/4 tsp SAF Yeast

Jalapeno & Cheese Filling:
1/3 cup  Freeze Dried Jalapenos
1 cup  Freeze Dried Cheddar Cheese

Pizza Filling:
2/3 cup  Tomato Powder + 1 cup Water
1 Tbsp Romantic Italian Seasoning
2/3 cup  Freeze Dried Sausage

Peanut Butter Filling:
1 cup  Powdered Peanut Butter + 3 Tbsp Water

Directions:
First, begin your dough.

In your BOSCH Universal Mixer, add dough ingredients in this order: water, brown sugar, flour, and yeast. Mix for 5-6 minutes, in order to knead dough completely.

Place dough ball in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

While dough is rising, re-hydrate your ingredients by soaking in water, then draining the excess water.

In a large sauce pan, add 2 cups water and 2 Tbsp baking soda, and heat at a medium heat. This will be the bath you'll wash your pretzels in.

Remove dough from bowl and roll out on a floured surface.

Using a dough cutter, slice dough into rectangle slices, then slice those strips down the middle.

Take a slice of dough and roll out to flatten.

Place ingredients on top of dough.

Fold up dough, pinching it on the sides.

You should end up with a bite that looks like this.

Place bite in water wash and let it sit in the wash for about a minute on both sides.

Repeat this process for each bite. Once bites are complete, brush some melted butter on top and sprinkle with salt.

Bake in a 425 degree oven for 10 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.

Remove, allow to cool, and serve.

Get ready for a Game Day, tail-gating snack that will hit you harder than a 400 lb linebacker! These pretzel bites bake up super light and fluffy, with a punch of flavor in every one. The jalapeno & cheese pretzel bite is full of spicy goodness, while the pizza pretzel bite is the perfect combination of flavors. By far my favorite pretzel bite was the peanut butter. Who knew a pretzel could taste so good!

Game Day is almost here! Celebrate it right with these delicious pretzel bites!
