Perhaps the most well known nation for baked sweets would be France. Eclairs, croissants, and crepes are definitely the established desserts of the country. But have you ever tried a Clafoutis? What is a Clafoutis, you ask? Clafoutis is a baked french dessert of fruit, arranged in a buttered dish. It contains a thick batter, comparable to flan or a lightly cooked pancake. Simple put, Clafoutis is pure dessert bliss, especially when combined with our delicious, all new Organic Freeze Dried Strawberries! Grab your Beret, it's time to make Strawberry Clafoutis!
Ingredients:
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Organic Strawberries
1 cup Milk
1 1/2 cups Honeyville All Purpose Flour
8 Tbsp Honeyville Ova Easy Egg Crystals + 12 Tbsp Water (4 Eggs)
3/4 cup Sugar
1 tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Butter (for greasing the ramekins)
Yields: 4 ramekins
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, eggs, and milk, and mix together until a runny, pancake-like batter forms.

In a smaller bowl, re-hydrate your strawberries by adding 1/4 cup water, allowing to soak, then draining the excess water.

Using your butter, grease your ramekins. I used 3 ramekins, but you can make 4 with this recipe.

Line ramekins with strawberries.

Pour in batter until it's just below the lip of the bowl.

Place ramekins on cookie tray and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Remove and dust Clafoutis with powdered sugar. They'll be high and fluffy when removed from the oven, but will shrink down in size as they cool. Allow to cool, then serve.

These amazingly delicious Clafoutis are awesome! Light, Fluffy, with just the perfect amount of sweet and savory. The strawberries give it an added amount of flavor and texture. Served up in a ramekin, these are the perfect, personal-sized desserts for any party or get together.

It's time to bring the international bakery to you, and these French Clafoutis are the perfect way to do that!
