Cinnamon Roll Cookies




Cookies or Cinnamon Rolls? For years these two treats have been the source of much debate in our home around the Holidays. While some yearn for fresh baked cookies, others have desired the light, fluffy taste of these delicious, homemade rolls.

Why must there be a debate? Why must we choose? Why can't we have both delicious dishes, baked into one amazing Holiday dessert?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm here to tell you that you can! Thanks to our amazing Alta Artisan Flour, we've created a mouth-watering, jaw dropping, beautiful cookie that looks, smells, and even tastes like homemade cinnamon rolls...but they're cookies! Yes, cookies! How can this be? Trust, us, you don't want to pass on this recipe! Grab your apron, it's time to bake up some Cinnamon Roll Cookies!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups Butter, softened
2 1/4 cups Powdered Sugar
1 Egg
1 Tbsp Vanilla
3 3/4 cup Alta Artisan Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Himalayan Salt
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon

Glaze:
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1 Tbsp Butter, melted
2-3 tsp Milk

Directions:
First, prepare your dough.

In a large bowl, combine butter, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla, and beat together with an electric hand mixer until smooth.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt, and whisk together.

Beat flour in to egg/butter mixture until a soft dough forms. Separate dough, wrap in plastic wrap, and place in refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

Remove and roll out on a hard surface.

Use a pizza cutter and cut to an even rectangle, then brush with light water. sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top.

Gently roll dough up. Wrap with plastic wrap, then refigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Remove dough and slice cookies.

Place on your USA Pan Baking Sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. While cookies are baking, make glaze by whisking powdered sugar, butter, and milk together. Once cookies are removed, drizzle with glaze, then serve.
