Cracked Grain Baguettes




What's a party without a fresh baked baguette, am I right? No matter what the meal, or what the occasion, nothing makes it better than this warm, European inspired bread. Think about it, how many parties, gatherings, social events, or get togethers have you been to where you've seen a freshly sliced baguette on the table?

Whether dipping it in a warm plate of cheesy artichoke dip, toasting it up with some garlic and Parmesan, or simple spreading some soft butter on top of each slice, the baguette is a pretty common staple at any gathering. So with all those amazing uses, why are you still buying your baguettes from the store?

It's time to start baking your own baguettes, and we've got the perfect recipe to help! Using our flavorful 9 Grain Cracked Cereal, our always impressive Alta Artisan Flour, and with a little help from our USA Pan Italian Loaf Pan, we've got a homemade baguette recipe that is not only simple to make, it tastes absolutely amazing! It's time to bake up some Cracked Grain Baguettes!

Ingredients:
3 cups Hot Water
1/3 cup Sugar
1 Tbsp Himalayan Salt
2 cups  9 Grain Cracked Cereal
4-6 cups Alta Artisan Bread Flour
3 Tbsp SAF Yeast

Directions:
First, prepare your dough.

In your WonderMix Mixer or Bosch Universal Mixer, combine the following ingredients in this order: water, sugar, salt, 9 grain mix, 2-3 cups flour, and yeast. Turn mixer on and, while ingredients are mixing, add remaining flour until dough begins to pull away from the sides. Knead in machine for 4-5 minutes.

Remove dough from machine, place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30-40 minutes.

Once dough has risen, punch down, remove, and divide in half.

Shape each half like a baguette and place on your USA Pan Italian Loaf Pan.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Once oven has preheated, slice the tops of the baguettes with a knife, then spray generously with water.

Place in oven and bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, then knock temperature down to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Remove and let cool completely before slicing and serving.
